Constellacion

The constellations of the zodiac guide us since the dawn of time, but do we really know them?

The constellations of the zodiac are familiar to us and are probably the origin of the most ancient mythologies and beliefs.

Well known to astrologers, they also allow astronomers to locate themselves in the night sky.

For the first time, thanks to the Constellation collection, they are represented taking into account their distance from the sun. The depth of space and the distances between the stars appear in sculptural form.

By anamorphosis, the Data Constellations allow us to find the missing perspective when we look at these stars connected by imaginary lines. The set of celestial coordinates of each star forms a volume in relief, palpable and abstract.

Objects that will reconcile astronomers and astrologers, it is also one of the reasons for this collection.

Collection

The CASSIOM collection, designed and developed by founder Florent LE SCORNET, has been created in an artistic environment in conjunction with architecture and interior decoration.

Words from the founder

“The cosmos is beautiful.  We experience it on an intimate level when we raise our eyes to the starry sky.  Observation instruments, binoculars and telescopes give us magnificent views of the stars.  Yet few objects allow us to appropriate the beauty of celestial bodies. With Cassiom, I wanted to bring the beauty of the cosmos into our homes, our schools, our offices, the hotel and all environments where one can appreciate the vastness of the sky.”

Losing itself in astronomy and design, CASSIOM has invented a trend and high-tech item combined with the pleasure of the beautiful item to be possessed: space decorations

From contemplation to exploration, Cassiom decorative items are part of our everyday lives with poetry, precision and richness. The purpose of these items is to mention or disclose the mysteries illustrated by myths or great discoveries.

An astronomical clock, constellations, nebulae … the CASSIOM collection and space decorations show the cosmos and the solar system up close and most fairly.

CASSIOM items are no more than astronomy instruments.

Technological objects par excellence and gifts that are high-tech, innovative and at times unusual, CASSIOM astronomical and decorative items play with the latest technological developments.

Useful, they can also be broken down into several versions that are more or less sophisticated in their design and materials. Made to order and in series, they are suited to all spaces.

They are also exceptional design decorative items that are decorative art items that are precious too all aesthetics.

Lux Tempora

Lux Tempora invites you on a journey through the solar system at the speed of light.

Lux Tempora is a 21st century astronomical clock, a decorative, scientific, and playful object: the first object to materialize the travel of the photon from the Sun.

It enables to visualize, with precision and realism, the speed at which light moves in the Universe.

From a scientific point of view, it answers the following question:

– In how long do the photons from the Sun reach each of the solar system planets to illuminate them?

Minimalist aesthetic bias, the alignment of the planets on the same axis simplifies the spatial reality to do it more obvious.

By replicating to scale, the exact speed of light, this representation of a journey in time and space is materialized by a moving ray of light.

A universalist object, Lux Tempora evokes the Cosmos, our place in the Universe, the relative smallness of our planet Earth and its fragility.

Contemplative, dreamy and escapable, turn it on and let yourself be surprised!

Alunis

The Moon as never seen!

Alunis is a collection of objects invented in order to touch, understand and dream about the moon.

Take the first step or hold it in your hands!

Closer than ever, the moon is celebrated by poets, scientists, followers of the Koran and lovers of all countries.

For almost twenty years, Luc Billières takes us on a journey through space to relive the first steps… Associated with CASSIOM, in an exclusive and unique collaboration, the artist takes us to our favourite satellite.

Revisited in mural sculpture, Buzz Aldrin’s first step is an iconic work for all lovers of Space.

Therefore, it is impossible not to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the first moon walk with a tribute to the men who revolutionised our vision of the world.

To better discover the moon, we chose to appeal to Erol, an artistic genius, who was able to highlight its texture and selenite surface. Starting with the data from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and a process developed by him, he created the first Luna: A masterful production that cannot be compared with the multiple versions in 3D prints completed so far.

Nebulla

Eta Carinea, Orion, Rosetta… When artists challenge the most mysterious nebulae!

Nebulae are celestial objects composed of gas, plasma and dust.

Until very recently, the term used to refer to cloudy and more or less diffuse objects.

Today, thanks to the technological advances of the 20th century, we can finally visualise them.

Hubble space telescope provides us some magnificient pictures of these far objects.

Celestia

The Celestia collection offers artistic interpretations of celestial objects that are familiar to us.

First evocation, the planet Saturn, jewel of our solar system.

All those who have had the chance to see it through the eyepiece of a telescope or a telescope will always have fond memories of it.

Visited several times by space probes, its beauty was magnified by the last visit of Cassini Huygens and its extraordinary images. The infinitely small, blocks of ice, dust and rocks making up the rings of Saturn rubs shoulders with the infinitely large of this planet nine and a half times larger than our planet Earth (Paradoxically the rings of Saturn are the thinnest objects in our solar system).

Data Structure

A playful and intelligent skill gadget
Small object of curiosity cabinet, playful and intelligent skill gadget using the exact coordinates of the stars composing the constellations, DATA STRUCTURE synthesizes, thanks to an amusing assembly, celestial objects sometimes distant of hundreds of light-years. Made of rough wooden sticks, like a puzzle to be assembled by yourself, it represents the constellation of your choice with the true position of the stars. Handcrafted, individually, in limited edition, to offer to all family members.

Data Figure

Optical Art and Constellation by Ludovic Roth
A series of drawings by Ludovic Roth, limited edition of 20, on fine art paper. On the paper, the celestial coordinates draw kinetic shapes under the full and untied of a black felt pen. Taking a group of neighbouring stars on the celestial sphere, each figure hides a symbol, an allegory, a conventional figure given one of the 12 names of the zodiac. Everyone finds or loses himself there: the drawing erases or reveals the meaning in order to retain only the form.

Constellation By Ludovic Roth

The object, the artist and the designer
Seduced by its know-how and creativity, Cassiom entrusts its first Carte Blanche to Ludovic Roth. Ludovic Roth's Constellations, Data Constellation and Satellite , Satellite 2, Belier , Stellar are an opportunity for an encounter with himself: the designer thinks a sculpture and the artist imagines the functional object. For the first edition, he acts as a designer and visual artist and offers an inspired interpretation of the constellations, art objects in sepulchral black, abyssal white or metallic. The first of a series in the exploration phase, Ludovic Roth crosses a fine line between design, to give meaning to the object, and art, to plunge into the curiosity of forms. For him, the journey within the Cosmos is the ideal research space to demonstrate that the frontier lies within these narrow limits where the beauty of gesture reveals art to any object.

Data Sculpture

Porcelain of Limoges under the sign of the zodiac
A small sculpture designed from the position of the zodiac constellation's stars. On the back is engraved the image of the constellation as observed and invented by man. This track explores a modeling far removed from the usual reading of constellations, the coordinates of each star creating a volume in relief, palpable and abstract. A work halfway between arts and crafts and a unique object, the DATA SCULPTURES are french porcelains, from the famous and historical city manufacture of Limoges. They are made by a professional ceramist from Limoges. Looking very delicate, the porcelain is a guarantee of elegance and good taste. Slightly harsh to the touch, CASSIOM has opted for two versions: one, soft design, in deep black, and the other, pure white, both refined and elegant.
